The Jump Off
June 02 - August 26, 2017
UICA celebrates 40 years of experimentation and growth with The Jump Off, a group exhibition that features multiple works by local, regional, and national artists. The artists included in the exhibition reveal the evolution within the creative process by presenting artwork that defines their current practice paired with earlier works - specifically, exposing the piece or pieces that served as the clear turning point; catalyzing the spark for their new work’s materials, visual or conceptual content.
The Jump Off was curated by UICA’s Exhibitions Curator, Heather Duffy, from a national call for work. Learn more.

Flex Gallery: A Public Art Project by Zachary Johnson
June 02 - August 04, 2017
Flex Gallery is a wearable, rotating exhibition space located on curator Zachary Johnson’s left arm. The mobile art space has to date hosted twelve custom armbands created by local, regional, and international artists that were originally exhibited in runs of two weeks each. The project includes a diverse range of media including photography, digital illustration, soft sculpture, and printmaking. Flex Gallery is curated with no limitations other than the dimensions of the canvas armbands which Johnson supplies to each artist. The full series of work from 12 artists will be displayed in UICA’s Front Street Gallery from June 02 - August 04, 2017. Learn more.
