Become a Docent
Docents are trained volunteers enthusiastic about helping visitors engage with the contemporary artwork on view in UICA's galleries. The collaboration between our Docents and the Education and Curatorial staff at UICA helps to expand our visitor's experience.
Rewards of Being a Docent:
- Expand your ability to engage with contemporary art.
- Share ideas and experiences with visitors through gallery exploration and conversation.
- Help guests engage with UICA programming and initiatives.

Apply for an Internship
Interns play a crucial role in the growth and success of UICA. Our internship program welcomes undergraduates and graduate students who are seeking college credit and are interested in gaining hands-on professional experience in a non-profit gallery setting. These unpaid positions work alongside UICA staff on a semester basis.
